Itinerary in details:
Day 01: Arrival in Hanoi
Welcome by your driver and transfer to hotel.
Free visit to Hanoi, old city, the perfect place to soak up all the atmosphere of the Renaissance city, where "hello" to passers reflects the imprint of French culture. Visit to Hoan Kiem lake, mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and his house on stilt. Walking through the old streets. Free dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Free time in Hanoi - Lao Cai by night train
Free day for personal city discovery. Free meals.
Evening transfer to Le Duan railway station for night train from Hanoi to Lao Cai in the sorft-sleeper cabin, departure from Hanoi at 21:15. Overnight on board (4 pax / cabin).
Day 03: Lao Cai - Sapa - Trekking in Tram Ton - Sin Chai
Arrive at Lao Cai. Road to Tram Ton through the silver waterfall and the Heaven door, the greatest pass of Vietnam. The view is magnificent on Fansipan Mount, the highest peak in Vietnam (3143m). The down way is through bamboo forests, Heritage’s Hoang Lien Son Park. Continue to the Sin Chai village inhabited by Hmong "black." You can enjoy the unspoiled nature and inhabitants beauty. Night and breakfast in Sin Chai.
Day 04: Sin Chai - Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho
Continuation of the trek to Cat Cat village where you will lunch nearby a waterfall. Enroute, you will take a hiking trail through the terraced rice fields and alongside a river that offers spectacular views before joining the Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong ethnic minority . Overnight in Y Linh Ho
Day 05: Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van
The trek follows the contour of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range foothills. You head to the Muong Hoa valley. Along a hiking trail, we first pass by the Lao Chai famous village (inhabited by Black Hmong ethnic minority) and then Tavan village (inhabited by Giay ethnic minority). Homestay overnight in a typical modest house. You can swim in nearby streams and relax in the breathtaking mountain scenery.
Day 06: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan - Sapa - Lao Cai - Hanoi by train
The last nice hiking day will take you to the Giang Ta Chai village inhabited by the Red Dao minority. Enroute, you pass through landscapes of bamboo forests and waterfalls. In Su Pan, a vehicle will be waiting for you to transfer you to Sapa. Free dinner before boarding the night train to Hanoi.
Day 07: Hanoi - Halong Bay
Return to Hanoi railway station and transfer by bus to Ha Long Bay. Around noon, get on Bai Tho or Huong Hai Junk (not privatized). Navigation through the Ha Long Bay. Stop for swimming if you want. Lunch, dinner and overnight on junk.
Day 08: Halong - Cruise
Breakfast on board. Continuation of the cruise to the Surprise cave with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.
Day 09: Ha Long - Cat Ba Island
Breakfast on board. You get on another boat for a sail to Lan Ha Bay to the Cat Ba island.Trekking through the national park to visit Viet Hai village. A boat wait for you for transfering to the island center. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Transfer by public bus on a beautiful coastal road toward Long Phu, the scenery is beautiful between the coast and verdant forests. Continuation by highspeed boat for about an hour to the Dinh Vu port in Hai Phong. Reception and transfer to the middle of the Red River Delta. Free meals. Night in hotel in Tam Coc.
Day 11: Ninh Binh - Halong Bay on Land - Hoa Lu
Embarking on small sampans for a nice relaxing cruise among stunning places for two hours on Ngo Dong River. Biclyclette ride to Bich Dong Pagoda and to the Truong Yen village where are situated the Dinh and Le kings Temples made by ironwood. Back to the hotel in Tam Coc by bicycle or bus. Dinner free. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Ninh Binh - Perfume Pagoda - Hanoi - Hue train
Transfer to the Perfume Pagoda in order to embark on local boats. Cruise up to the mountain foot called by the same name via Trinh temple. Trek to Thien Tru house & to the sacred mountain of Vietnamese pilgrims and then return to the boats. Transfer to Hanoi and overnight on train from Hanoi to Hue.
Reception at the railway station by your driver. Transfer to the hotel near by the Perfume River to deposit luggage and have breakfast. Visit to the Old Town. Free meals. Overnight at hotel in Hue.
Day 14: Hue - Free day
Free day to explore the city. Free meals. Overnight at hotel in Hue.
Day 15: Hue - Hoi An
Road to the south, towards the Cloudy Pass, beautiful landscape of fishing boat falling asleep on the China Sea. Panoramic views over the Lang Co bay with sky, sea and mountains before arriving at the Hoi An village,a charming little town by the sea, classified by Unesco with its 800 cultural monuments.
Day 16: Hoi An - Free day
Free time for personal discovery of the city. Hotels in Hoi An.
Day 17: Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh - My Tho
Transfer without guide from Hoi An to Danang airport. Flight Danang-Ho Chi Minh City.
Night at the inn near the Mekong River.
Day 18: My Tho - Sa Dec - Can Tho
Very early in the morning, river activities wake up throughout the village. Bike ride to visit a local market. Transfer towards Can Tho. Visit to Marguerite Duras home in Sa Dec enroute. Free meals. Overnight at hotel in Can Tho.
Day 19: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh
Early morning departure for a sampan day to explore the Cai Rang floating markets or Phong Dien renowned for its floating merchants, restaurants and bars animated all day and night. Then visit the ancient house in Binh Thuy and then return to Ho Chi Minh City. Free meals. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 20: Ho Chi Minh city - Paris
Free day in the former south capital. Transfer without a guide to the airport for your departure flight.
